Hazell Dean is a high energy artist whose career in dance music began in 1983 with her big hit “Searchin’ (I Gotta Find A Man)”. She instantly became a part of dance floors as she delivered many classics and club favorites that still resonate a period of beautiful heartbreak and love songs to move with. “They Say It’s Gonna Rain” is one of Hazell’s unforgettable tracks released in 1985 and was produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman. A song of a romance soon to end and yet the word has yet to be spoken of. One of the emotional dance tracks of the time and a wonderful arena for Hazell’s lyrical vocal style which expresses emotion in a powerful way.
I have taken the 12” version of “They Say It’s Gonna Rain” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix to give one of my favorite 80’s dance tracks a new framing. More of the sequencer patterns are outlined in this new remix and more of the drums used safely within the arrangement.
