ReStructure Mix Update (12/4/24):”Touch” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Secession

Secession is Peter Thomson, Jack Ross, Jim Ross and Carole L. Branston - a Scottish synth-pop band formed in the mid-80s. Their dance floor track “Touch” from 1984 is an electronic piece which has always given me the impression these players were working on a New Order sound for the time period. Their layering of sounds, off-beat melodies and new wave vocals give off a flair which became a target for many dance bands. “Touch” is a moody and longing track which emphasizes the absence of a lover and the feelings that are unfavorable. The production from John Rocca works up into a mild crescendo of exploding keyboard notes and winding sequencers. One of the hardcore dance palace pieces of the time and a definite edge on the 80s electronic dance movement

I have taken the 12’ Part 3 & 4 of “Touch” and reignited the flowing but striking keyboards again for this ReStructure Mix. Fully taking advantage of the instrumental pieces and placing the bongo-dub into the main mix.
