ReStructure Mix Update (9/10/25): ”Do Your Dance” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Rose Royce

Rose Royce is a funk/R&B and disco band who brought the 70’s a nuance of music which helped to bring soul music and the disco sound to many outlets. Best known for their soundtrack to the film “Car Wash” in 1976 produced by Norman Whitfield, this band made a lasting impression in music history. “Do Your Dance” is from their  1977 project titled “In Full Bloom” and is another example of the blend of funk and soul becoming the outline for disco music. The groove for this number is an infectious one and adding a blaring horn section tearing down the walls this move was another genius take from Norman Whitfield. The band consists of Freddie Dunn, Gwen Dickey, Henry Garner, Kenji Brown, Kenny Copeland, Lequeint "Duke" Jobe, Lisa Taylor, Mark Kenoly, Michael Moore, Michael Nash, Ricci Benson, Terral Santiel, Victor Nix and Walter McKinney.

I have taken the 12” version of “Do Your Dance” and re-funked a new edit and arrangement for this ReStructure Mix. I had used the original elements including beats and percussion to reintroduce the song with some new twists and turns.
