ReStructure Mix Update (4/22/22): “Dr. Doo-Dah” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kongas

ReStructure Mix Update (4/22/22): “Dr. Doo-Dah” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kongas

Kongas is a band who is assisted by Cerrone and Don Ray in the mid-70’s and created a full pledged disco project. Their 1977 project “Africanism” is one of the gems of its time. Featuring Sue Glover, Kay Garner and Joanne Stone on vocals with “Dr. Doo-Dah” – a Cerrone masterpiece of percussion and fantasy that he enveloped in his own music and throughout this time period. This track is one that brings to mind a relaxing beach and waves breaking on the shore with are aviary backdrop and the Calypso percussion. A great dance song and also one which brings out the disco in the most.

I have taken the album version of “Dr. Doo-Dah” and lighted the edge with more beat and drums to enter the garden. The pieces of percussion and chorus are mixed into a new ReStructure Mix and play out again with that charm and appeal for dancing.
