ReStructure Mix Update (4/28/22): “Magic” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Brian Soares

Brian Soares is one of the San Francisco artists whom helped to make the 80’s a continual dance celebration. His work included endeavors with David Diebold and also the big dance floor hit, “Dancing In My Sleep” by Secret Ties. “Magic” is one of his memorable dance tracks where he takes the love song from the film, “Xanadu” (originally performed by Olivia Newton-John) and transforms it wonderfully into a male lead dance anthem. An exciting moment for its release in 1985 as it did not seem possible for this to be done by a male artist. Dance floors worked their bones to this one as the excitement was also bound to the fast moving high energy groove.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of Brian Soares’ “Magic” and waved a ReStructure Mix wand over this magnificent cover. There is a longer into with play on the keyboards and sequencers and a lasting fade for the magic to dissipate.
