ReStructure Mix Update (4/24/22): “Don’t Leave Me This Way” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Slip
Slip is a Euro-disco project from producer, Manfred-Alois Segith – who also gave us Fancy and many Euro-disco/dance projects by various artists. Slip is one of early 80’s sessions which began with a cover of the Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes/Thelma Houston disco classic, “Don’t Leave Me This Way”. This electronic piece is a production which takes the vocals into a dreamy and sexy wonderland with a Marilyn Monroe feel. The chorus builds unlike the original soulful versions are campy and sweet – the underground disco way. A nice take on a disco classic and a new twist on the heartbreak in the femme fetale arena.
I have taken the 12” version of Fancy’s “Don’t Leave Me This Way” and played out this sexy drama in a new way. This ReStructure Mix utilizes the syn-drum breaks in parts of the track where e definite energy is new and surprising.
