"Take That To The Bank" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - ShalamarDick Griffey and Simon Soussan created Shalamar in 1976 - the band and vocalists went on to great success throughout the late 70's and early 90's. Their first LP which spotlighted a medley of Motown classics gave the band their uplifting and sweet essence.
In 1978 their single "Take That To The Bank" brought a soulful and funky flavor to disco music. Along with the full production of strings. keyboards and percussion it was an instant win for the group.
I have taken "Take That To The Bank" and have given the song a new identity - extending Jody Watley's vocal bridge segment that builds like to hot sticks rubbing over lighter fluid! The song is an all-time favorite so remixing it was indeed a pleasure.
