Deniece
Williams is a voice that resonates throughout the 70s. Her 1976 hit
“Free” is the soul that moves the heart and is one of those vocal
performances which haunts every sense of our heart and being. Deniece
continued throughout the mid-70s with her voice framing many ballads
appropriately and then during the big disco years she took a turn into
the fire. Her voice made her 1979 disco track “I’ve Got The Next Dance” a
roaring classic. In 1984 the soundtrack to the film “Footloose”
featured Deniece’s “Let’s Hear It For The Boy” as an outline to the
films aura and now classic 80s dance. Produced by George Duke the song
presents a moment for the hero of the film to take a bow.
I
have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental and used pieces and parts to
recreate this anthem into a ReStructure Mix. The original John
“Jellybean” Benitez trip is classic enough so this remix is an homage to
his genius and another time to get lost in this uplifting number.
