Passport
is a jazz ensemble by Klaus Doldinger in 1971. The group uses a jazz
fusion along with pop elements to plant a venture into a sometime
rock-edged feel. Their 1980 album “Oceanliner” featured a single titled
“Rub-A-Dub” which caught my attention with its energetic kick track and
playful riffs that blend out of their unique style. This one always used
during tea dances at the right time had the dance floor jumping in the
air. It was a nice piece that never did any dance charting but is nice
to hear as an underground choice and now remix.
I
have taken the original 12” version and reworked this piece into an
extended ReStructure Mix which strips away much of the instrumentation
to make way for the foundation of electronic and percussive effects
which rock out in a jazz sense as well as give this a nice instrumental
for those all-nighters who want to be awaken again when the sun comes up
again.
