REISSUE: “Funky Bee Bop” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Vin Zee

REISSUE:  “Funky Bee Bop” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Vin Zee

Vin Zee Is an Italian project from Luciano Ninzatti and Stefano Pulga – both worked on projects from Kano (“I’m Ready”. “Another Life”). Their work in the early 80’s helped to create a path for Italo-disco as a progressive dance genre for its time. “Funky Bee Bop” is a slick electronic dance number that echoes a touch of rap-like vocals in a course of vocoders and funky keyboards. The use of heavy bass and synthesizers outlining the arrangement are the familiar use which gives it an identifiable sound as Kano and many projects of the time period. This one is a sharp twist from the fantasy and space themes of the time and makes more of a street statement for the Italo-disco team.

I have taken the 12” vocal and dub of “Funky Bee Bop” and re-used the pieces that tick here into a new ReStructure Mix. This time around the vocals are placed within a space which breaks down the groove into more of a surprise for those like to move. The Italian disco edge is taken in with a dub feel and used as it is.
