ReStructure Mix Update (11/27/19) “Coco Kane” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – El Coco
El Coco is a studio disco project from W. Michael Lewis and Laurin Rinder who worked feverously in the mid and late 70’s to bring dance floors fascinating grooves. Their 1978 album “Dancing In Paradise” is an iconic project for Rinder and Lewis when all of their experience at creating music for dancers was achieved full-scale. “Coco Kane” is a track from the project and features on vocals – Alex Brown, Merria Ross and Mortonette Jenkins. This slight take on the high of the 70’s is one of the driving numbers with the classic El Coco sound featuring keyboards jumping in and out of strings and bass.
I have taken the album version of “Coco Kane” and added a new ingredient of loop ology and samples to recreate this ReStructure Mix. The keyboard riffs are edited and reassembled to make this experience a new high!
