Edmund Sylvers
is a member of The Sylvers and provided the lead vocals for top hits “Hot Line”
and “Boogie Fever”. His career lead into a solo album from 1980 with a track
titled “That Burning Love” which is an outline for the retro-funk of today with
artist like Bruno Mars. The album was released on Casablanca Records and
produced by Benjamin F. Wright. Although the track did not receive much
recognition in its time it still has some of the production and edge that bring
to mind the mature funk of the time.
I have taken the
album version of “That Burning Love”: for this ReStructure Mix and set a new
fire to this fantastic love song. It has samples of a classic 80’s Jackson
number which help to bring out some of the natural elements.
