ReStructure Mix Update (8/3/19) “The Man’s So Real” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Mimi Mimi is a high-energy/disco artist who recorded several dance singles in the early and mid-80’s. “The Man’s So Real” is a single from 1984 and was produced by Andy Sojka and Richard de Jongh who also brought us electronic productions from Magic Bullets, Contact-U, Ashaye, Atmosfear and Distance. During an early experimental period and the creation of high energy their heavy keyboard and percussion tracks became more notable for jocks that would use even parts of the tracks in instrumental parts as mixable tracks. Mimi’s single caught my attention as it closely followed the “So Many Men, So Little Time” formula with the heavy cowbell and cosmic-like breaks. A nice little fantasy and dance track of a woman’s dream of the perfect man. I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “The Man’s So Real” and recreated a flowing ReStructure Mix using my favorite parts of the song. It brings in the chorus with more of the rolling arpeggio and new breaks using the original percussion fills.
