REISSUE: “New Attitude” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Patti LaBelle

REISSUE: “New Attitude” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Patti LaBelle Patti LaBelle began her solo recording career in 1977 following a memorable place in the soul/funk trio LaBelle along with Sarah Dash and Nona Hendryx. Many of her recordings with LaBelle gave this songbird an opportunity to blend her powerful vocals over the talents of the ensemble. As a solo artist Patti is undeniably one of the most influential figures in soul music. “New Attitude” gives Patti a moment to step into the 80s synth-pop arena with a track that is most fitting. It delivers a positive message and allows this voice to carry us into a roaring anthem. The song was produced for a soundtrack project for the 1984 film, “Beverly Hills Cop” – produced by Howie Rice, Peter Bunetta and Rick Chudacoff. I have taken the 12” version of “New Attitude” remixed by Louil Silas Jr. and reworked a ReStructure Mix with more of a beat-dub ‘attitude’ bringing more space into the heavy production. More of the vocal is broken into pieces to give us the positive message again, in a new way.
