REISSUE: “In The Night” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Cheryl Lynn Cheryl Lynn is a voice that made the disco era complete. Her big hits “Got To Be Real” and “Star Love” from 1978 were the mortar which secured the disco wall. Her 1981 album titled “In The Night” was an electronic funk excursion produced by Ray Parker Jr. and was one of the most awaited with its big single “Shake It Up Tonight”. The title track is a mild trip which brings the early call of love onto the dance floor. It has the vocals where Cheryl delivers a sweet and analyzing performance. I have taken the album version of “In The Night” and created a new ReStructure Mix with more of the mid-evening energy added. A Bohannon riff gives the verses a new spike and more breaks create the hardcore feel of the nightlife.
