ReStructure Mix Update (3/20/21) “So Glad” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Pepper Watkins
Pepper Watkins (Carolyn Watkins) is a vocalist who performed in The Alabama State Troupers and Mount Zion Singers. Her solo career gave us a single from 1986 titled “So Glad” – produced by Ross Vannelli who also gave us Gino Vanelli’s “I Just Wanna Stop”. This Euro-disco piece is one of the singles released on TSR Records which echoes the specialized dance etiquette the label was dedicated to. The high energy edge to this electronic production is given a beautiful vocal from Pepper Watkins which moves closer to a standard vocalist creating this love song.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “So Glad” and rearranged the dance track in a new way for this ReStructure Mix. It works on the percussion riff and then uses the heavy synthesizer elements to keep it moving in a new way.
