REISSUE: “Boogie Wonderland" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Earth, Wind and Fire

REISSUE: “Boogie Wonderland" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Earth, Wind and Fire Earth, Wind and Fire made the 70's complete with their big disco hit "Boogie Wonderland" - a sensational dance track which also featured The Emotions. The song has lasted throughout time to give the excitement and fusion of soul and pop music in the disco arena. I have ReStructured the original 12" vocal mix and added a few breakdowns with a dub-essence. In addition to allot of looping there is a new arrangement.

REISSUE: "Paradise Island" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Wonderland Band

REISSUE: "Paradise Island" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Wonderland Band One of the last big disco productions - The Wonderland Band is a campy studio session with the theme of super-heroes. With Wonder Woman and Superman included. But, the production gives off the serious end of the full and satisfying disco sound. "Paradise Island" is another track from the album that explores a make-believe place where love and happiness grown and mystery and intrigue are alive. This is the perfect disco fantasy and rightfully so. The flashing lights and and freedom on the floor are endless if you understand and let yourself go. I have ReStructured the 12" remix into a new atmosphere keeping in mind that this song soars several times into a place where the dance floor can take advantage of. It has a bit more breakdowns and slices the long drum break into segments. This production was by Morrie Brown and features lead vocals by Deedee Dennard and backing by Clydene Jackson, Julia Waters and Maxine Waters.

REISSUE: “Keep Those Lovers Dancing" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Saturday Night Band

REISSUE: “Keep Those Lovers Dancing" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Saturday Night Band Saturday Night Band is Jesse Boyce, Moses Dillard, Donna McElroy and guest vocals from Lorraine Johnson. Their first LP "Come On Dance, Dance" was one of the first signs of the arrival of disco music to the masses. Combining the elements of a live band and the sweet strings of a disco arrangement were the trademarks of Dillard and Boyce productions - as heard here. "Keep Those Lovers Dancing" is the second project from the band released in 1979. The title track gets a ReStructure Mix - where I have tamed the song down and made a smoother intro and placed parts where I felt appropriate. It is like ear-candy - the way disco music was intended to sound. Dedicated to Jesse Boyce - thank you for the emails, Jesse and again thank you for the wonderful music that makes my life and so many others a special place!

REISSUE: “Bodycheck” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Three Degrees

REISSUE: “Bodycheck” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Three Degrees One of the disco eras greatest gift to dancers is a project titled “New Dimensions” by The Three Degrees and produced by Giorgio Moroder. It was a fusion of Moroder’s electronic disco pulses with the sultry voices of Philly’s trio. A magic moment and full of energy and stage appeal for these beautiful divas. The following disco project from 1980 titled “3D” featured the familiar ingredient moving these ladies into more of Moroder’s sound and production. “Bodycheck” is the closing track from the album and one which moves like a disco dance anthem with the ladies serenading us in a high energy feel. I have taken the album version of “Bodycheck” and worked a new ReStructure Mix to build this one into a frenzy of electronic synths and rocked guitar twangs. It is a new arrangement and borrows a few riffs from past number by The Three Degrees!

REISSUE: “Rocket In The Pocket” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Cerrone

REISSUE: “Rocket In The Pocket” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Cerrone Cerrone’s project “The Golden Touch” is one of the great Euro-disco recordings from the master of disco released in 1978. The project featured the track “Rocket In The Pocket” which plays out not as a theme for the nightlife but also the music that brought to life a hardcore club world. The session includes many familiar players including Don Ray, Mo Foster, Slim Pezin, Marc Chantereau and vocalists Kay Garner, Sue Glover and Sony Leslie. Cerrone gives the original album version a live feel and also a breakdown for the band to live out their talent. I have taken the album version and re-edited and reworked this ReStructure Mix of “Rocket In The Pocket”. I have created a new arrangement using the funky breaks and the fierce vocals. The synthesizer effects by George Rodi are extended and placed in more parts of the song to bring it more to life.

REISSUE: “They Only Come Out At Night” by Peter Brown – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “They Only Come Out At Night” by Peter Brown – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Peter Brown is an extremely talented musician who brought some of the most incredible dance music to disco music from 1977 through the early 80s. Best know are “Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me”, “Dance With Me” and “Crank It Up”. His sound emerged from the Miami sound from disco label Drive Records and founder, Henry Stone. As a surviving disco artist of the late seventies he continued to bring a new sound fitting for changing times. A fully electronic arrangement and pop-synth vibe. “They Only Come Out At Night” is from his 1984 album, “Snap” which became a frequently played track appropriately for the clubs and nightlife scene. I have taken “They Only Come Out At Night” and paired it with the 1971 science fiction film “The Omega Man” starring Charlton Heston and Rosalind Cash. The story follows one of the last surviving humans following biological warfare and his attempts to survive in a lonely metropolis as nocturnal mutants hunt him for death. The theme works with the disco in a more haunting sense. The film was directed by Boris Segal Featuring scenes from “The Omega Man” – RENT THE DVD! REISSUE: “Up Jumped The Devil” by John Davis Monster Orchestra – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Up Jumped The Devil” by John Davis Monster Orchestra – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
John David and The Monster Orchestra put the funk in disco music without taking the chic sound away. The magic of Mr. John Davis is best as outlining the disco era in a progressive pop mode. With tracks like “Ain’t That Enough For You” and “Love Magic” very little is left to imagine about disco music. His 1977 project titled “Up Jumped The Devil” is one of the dance experiences that bring the horns and funky guitars home. I have taken the 12” version of “Up Jumped The Devil” and created a Disco Video Mix along with the 1973 horror/psychological drama, “The Exorcist” starring Ellen Burstyn, Max Von Sydow, Jason Miller and Linda Blair. A playful clip of the graphic scenes of the possession of a young girl by the devil who just can’t stay down. The film was directed by William Friedkin Featuring scenes from “The Exorcist” – RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE: “Magic Bird of Fire by The Salsoul Orchestra Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Magic Bird of Fire by The Salsoul Orchestra Video Mix by Glenn Rivera The 1963 Alfred Hitchcock horror classic, "The Birds" is the outline for The Salsoul Orchestras disco-fied Russian-ballet, "The Firebird" by Stravinsky from 1910. "Magic Bird of Fire" is a wonderful outline for the disco symphony that made disco music widely acceptable for its layered disco arrangements. The 1977 LP "The Journey Continues" was produced by Vincent Montana, Jr. and also featured Runaway with Loleatta Holloway, their Grammy winning cover of Earth Wind and Fire's "Getaway", as well as the 1976 theme from the Montreal Olympics. Featuring scenes from Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" - RENT THE DVD! Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE: “Haunted Disco” by Chromium – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Haunted Disco” by Chromium – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Chromium is a disco project from producers Trevor Horn (ABC, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Malcolm McLaren, Grace Jones) and Geoff Downes (Asia, Thompson Twins) and released their album “Star To Star” in 1979. The big club “Fly On UFO” was a hit and remains the finale destination for disco arrangements of the time. I have taken the song “Haunted Disco” from the album and paired it with the 2012 comedy/fantasy film “Dark Shadows” and stars Johnny Depp as the resurrected vampire, Barnabas Collins. This odd return to the 70s play with a few elements which are fitting for the ghoulish-disco mood. The film was directed by Tim Burton Featuring scenes from “Dark Shadows” – RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE: “Ghost House” by The House Engineers – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Ghost House” by The House Engineers – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera The House Engineers are a mid-80s electronic house project from Fernand Fidore and Paul Witts. Using the riffs and foundation of electronic house sound which progressed with the Chicago house, acid and new beat influences of the time. “Ghost House” is a simple and slick piece using a chilling vocal and horror genre to spook up a nifty dance number. It was a perfect piece for those Halloween parties and terror themed mixed tapes. I have taken “Ghost House” into a Special Halloween Disco Video Mix using scenes from the 1959 William Castle horror flick, “House on Haunted Hill” – starring Vincent Price. A cheesy ghost story about an eccentric millionaire who invites five guests to earn $10,000 each if they can last a night together in this so-called haunted house. It plays out as campy as the dance track itself. The film was directed by William Castle Featuring scenes from “House on Haunted Hill” – RENT THE DVD! ReStructure Mix Update (6/1/20) “Dirty Talk” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Klein & MBO

ReStructure Mix Update (6/1/20) “Dirty Talk” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Klein & MBO

Klein & MBO is an Italian disco project from Tony Carrasco and Mario Boncaldo during the early 80’s. This electronic piece was an innovative style for the time since it used many elements of early house music and a repetitive rhythm which sets the course for a simple set of verses for the recipe. “Dirty Talk” was a big hit in the US as well as overseas in many clubs which were lured into the underground feel of the track. This became one of the champion sounds of the mid-80s and inspired many productions and arrangements similar to its sound. This one was a club crossover as well as an Italo-disco statement once again.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental versions of “Dirty Talk” and recreated a new rhythm section for this ReStructure Mix. It kicks back with the new drum beats and plays out again as a rolling piece of rhythmic magic.

REISSUE: “The Night They Invented Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Noel

REISSUE: “The Night They Invented Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Noel Noel is an 80s dance project created by Ron Mael and Russell Mael who are also Sparks. Their work with disco pioneer Giorgio Moroder ("Beat The Clock") had obviously influenced their synthesizer and sequencer curiosity in the late 70s disco movement. "The Night They Invented Love" is from the LP "Is There More To Life Than Dancing?" which was released in 1979 - this project offered a light twist on a new-wave vocal with the pumping edge of electro-disco. It is a celebrated sound among disco audiophiles - and Noel is somewhat of an underground hit. I have taken "The Night They Invented Love" as one of my favorite tracks of the time and placed parts of the song into a re-edit and surface face lift to give it a whole new aural journey. The song still sounds mystifying and gave me a whole new purpose for the sake of keeping it alive.

REISSUE: "Tryouts For The Human Race" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sparks

REISSUE: "Tryouts For The Human Race" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sparks Sparks is Ron Mael and Russell Mael - one of the early 70s pop-rock bands and in the late 70s and early 80s synth-disco icons. Their work with Giorgio Moroder on their 1979 album "No. 1 In Heaven" gave them the creativity to inject their boy-rock vocals over a wall of electronic dance tracks. The same year they created a classic disco album with vocalist Noel ("Dancing Is Dangerous"). I have taken the 12" of "Tryouts For The Human Race" and created a new ReStructure Mix - grabbing the classic Moroder sounds and pieces along with the boys to force a new experience for this play on society and fantasy.

REISSUE: "I Want A Man" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Noel

REISSUE: "I Want A Man" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Noel Noel is a disco artist from 1979 brought to us by Ron Mael and Russell Mael - better known as the rock band Sparks. Following the release of the Mael Brothers LP "No. 1 In Heaven" which was produced by Giorgio Moroder - the electronic disco formula may have been a bit contagious and perplexing to these artists. Taking their nu-wave-ish muse and applying a disco edge to the pulsating rhythms brought the LP "Is There More To Life Than Dancing" to life - the entire project is looked at by disco-collectors as classic dance material. I have taken the album version of the closing track, "I Want A Man" (which I played out during it's release and in stand up bars in the 80s) and extended it and tweaked it into a new ReStructure Mix for you lovers of Noel, Sparks and the Moroder disco sound.

REISSUE: "Dancing Is Dangerous" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Noel

REISSUE: "Dancing Is Dangerous" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Noel From the talented minds of Ron Mael and Russel Mael (better known as Sparks) comes Noel. During a period where disco became pop music many artists and producers moved into the arena using justified elements and their own style. These boys worked with Giorgio Moroder on their "Beat The Clock"/Tryouts For The Human Race" success. It was obvious that the synthesizer revolution was undertaking a new edge. Noel's "Dancing Is Dangerous" is the perfect disco record of it's time - you hear the layering of each synthesizer and keyboard swirling and finally uniting. This track created quite a stir for both the Mael brothers and new artist, Noel. I have taken the track and ReStructured it using more of my favorite parts of the song and adding a few more breaks, breakdowns and verses. The track is one heck of a production when you begin to break it down.

REISSUE: "Beat The Clock" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sparks

REISSUE: "Beat The Clock" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sparks Ron and Russell Mael are Sparks - along with Giorgio Moroder during the big disco boom in 1979 created the "#1 In Heaven" project. Heavy on Sparks pounding drums to Moroder rolling synthesizers and phasing. "Beat The Clock" speaks the life of a small child who never seems to fit into life's "norm" and therefore makes an effort to conquer it's demands. I have taken the domestic 12" mix and spread the drums and bass synths into an extended ReStructure Mix.
