REISSUE: “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Quantize

REISSUE: “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Quantize Quantize is a high energy dance project from the UK produced by Nick Lyne and Rod Warren. Their 1988 release of a high energy cover of The Walker Brothers 1965 classic “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore” is like maple syrup on disco pancakes. The heavy beats and rolling bass are delivered as the finished product of high energy music as it progressed from the early 80s up this period. Also intact in the lyrical disco melody which makes no apologies at being beautiful to sway to. The production is one of my favorites and stands out even today as a pivotal moment in dance music. I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore” and broke the angelic chorus into pieces. This ReStructure Mix is one of another tributes to a great shift in dance floors pawning for more of that beautiful high energy and early morning sound which made the underground disco scene popular in the early and mid-70’s.
