Diana Ross is
one of the iconic artists in music history. The success she created in the
Motown era of the 60’s set a stage for a transition into the 70’s for another
rein of original recordings for the soul and eventually disco music. In 1980
her album “Diana” was released and was one of the finishing touches for the end
of the disco era – a project produced by Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards of
Chic, one of disco music’s headliners and very talented duo. Their sound along
with Ross brought a new vehicle for continued success for both. “Have Fun (Again)”
is another piece from the project which echoes the sound of the heavy bass
guitars of Chic and the smooth disco strings and arrangements included. It is
one of the numbers that received attention both on dance floors and fans.
I have taken the
12” version of “Have Fun (Again)” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix with a new
focus on the energy of the chorus and the excitement of this pairing. More
percussion and beats are added to bring it higher and more evident that the
party has begun.
