ReStructure Mix Update (4/5/22): “Suspicious Minds” – GlennRivera ReStructure Mix – Thelma Houston
Thelma Houston has taken on the Elvis Presley 1969 #1 track, “Suspicious Minds” – a song that was originally recorded in 1968 by the writer, Mark James. Thelma gives a new disco/soul presence in this masterpiece of an insecure story. It has always enveloped the opposite side of a defense in a relationship where the movement of our protagonist is constantly challenged. The vocal from Ms. Houston is as lovely and soulful as usual and the rolling disco production gives it a luster that the mirror ball has always projected. It is from her 1980 project “Breakwater Cat” – produced by James Gadson and Michael Stewart.
This is a request from the fabulous Nick Bunning from Facebook and is executed with a new instrumental added to give this ReStructure Mix a new flair. The extension moves in and out of both the original and some new breaks and beats to guide it along.
