ReStructure Mix Update (8/22/22): “In The Name Of Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Thompson Twins

Thompson Twins are Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie and Chris Bell – one of the many memorable groups from the 80’s. Their first dance floor hit “in The Name Of Love” from 1982 was produced by Dennis Bovell, Mike Howlett and Steve Lillywhite. This was a powerhouse single who gave the band their identity with its nu-wave edged vocals, heavy percussion and drums. It was the synth-pop sound of the early 80’s exploding with a new direction. “In The Name Of Love” has several riffs which keep the energy moving at a steady pace along with the somewhat distorted groove.

I have taken the 12” original mix, the 1988 dub and house versions of “In The Name Of Love” to rework the classic into a new ReStructure Mix. More of the rhythm is pulled out to give it a spotlight and the flow continues along the same lines where a crescendo brings on more energy.
