Dazz Band is a funk band from the late 70’s with a big dance floor hit in 1982 titled “Let It Whip” – produced by Reggie Andrews. A beat and rhythm approach which instantly became a favorite among clubs. Its rhythm track is the foundation of 80’s funk captured in a monumental state as this love song lures its capture into a dancing frenzy with breakdowns and slick claps tracks as the aphrodisiac. It was one of the pieces that kept my floor moving that year and now brings back that packed to the edges of the dance floor memory.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental versions of “Let It Whip” and redirected the energy for this new ReStructure Mix. A new arrangement of vocals and breaks are allocated as well as a couple of new breaks.
