ReStructure Mix Update (5/2/24):”Give Me Your Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Phil Trim

Phil Trim is a singer from Trinidad who began his recording career in 1978 and released 5 projects. His single from 1977 “Give Me Your Love” was featured on the TK Disco label and was produced by Ramon Arcusa. This is disco bubble show complete with the chorus girls introducing our man at every verse. This is the disco camp which emerged during a period where disco music was finding itself labeled as funk, soul and at times pop. This love song has the strings that ignite the mirror balls and the bass lines which fuse the hustle. This disco record is one of the sheer pieces from the time period where the sound was being created as well as being showcased.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Give Me Your Love” and worked on wiping half of the slate clean for this ReStructure Mix. A new downbeat and percussion track pull along with this festive song and more breaks added to give it a new feel.
