ReStructure Mix Update (11/12/25): ”Build Me A Bridge”  – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Adele Bertei

Adele Bertei is a dancer and singer who released her dance single “Build Me A Bridge” in 1983 which she co-wrote and was produced by Thomas Dolby. The song is one of an estranged relationship drifting farther and farther apart yet the hope of uniting somewhere in the middle before all is lost. The release was successful in its initial tie-in to Bertei also featured on tracks by Dolby and Jellybean at the time. The production is a light electronic fair which outlines the desperation and then a recourse for a solution where the chorus becomes a plea. Dolby gives his touch in creating a rolling bass line over street beats and eventually giving us a few mild crescendos. An outline of what the early 80s were in as synth-pop became the new recipe.

I have taken the 12” vocal and dub versions of “Build Me A Bridge” and laid out a new intro and outline for this ReStructure Mix. I have added a dub-like intro and break to the troubles and used the original bass in a looping charge for a new effect.
