Prince (Prince Rogers Nelson) is a funk/disco artist from the early 80s who changed the face of music during his own musical growth. His first double album titled “1999” released in 1982 was a landmark recording which featured his unique style of light rock and funk fused tightly with his classic drum tracks. “Little Red Corvette” is one of the singles from this project and perhaps one of the “coolest” tracks of the time. This one pounds out the pain of the start of an uncertain relationship which may not be too promising - but worth the ride. Prince gives his all in this song and makes several movements throughout which even today are messages in the music itself.
I have taken the 12” version of “Little Red Corvette” and have given this one another run around the block for the ReStructure Mix. Placing more of those funky guitar segments in front of the new arrangement and working the energy in a new way.
