Kano is an Italian disco project from Luciano Ninzatti, Stefano Pulga and Matteo Bonsanto. Their 1980 single “I’m Ready” helped to bridge the edge of electronic funk and the heavy synthesizer foundation of Italo-disco. One of the moments in dance history where the dance floor took immediate notice and followed. “Now Baby Now” is also from their first self-titled album and is another experimental move on the musicians wizardry to blend rhythm with pieces of their electronic arsenal. Clap patterns that range from stomping echoes to a high energy chorus which blends into this night where it is time to take your baby out “now”. The Italian disco theme during the early 80’s was more of a bubbly sound where these men took it down where the beats and groove are moving in a serious funk direction.
I have taken the album version of “Now Baby Now” and stripped it down for this ReStructure Mix revisit. Taking the premise into a more dub and beat pounding arrangement where the freedom to move is what you hear.
