ReStructure Mix Update (2/27/26): ”Fly Hi” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Whirlpool featuring Mel Torme

Whirlpool are Eric D. Clark, Fred Heimermann, Hans Nieswandt and Justus Köhncke - together they created an experimental house project sampling pieces from Mel Torme’s 2013 jazz release, “Hi Fly”. The original in the crooner style fits wonderfully into the house and dub-feel scene with its display of the night life as a “crazy” way. The execution is done very well in two 12” versions where one follows a standard vibe while the other goes deeper into a moorish edge (provided by Morel). The Whirlpool 12” was released in 1993 and played out to those underground crowds who may have been moving to a house set finding themselves in a whole new world. A classic among those who may have experienced it in the right realm and right time.

I have taken both versions of the Whirlpool track “Fly Hi” and reacquainted it with a few more pieces of Mel Torme’s number for this ReStructure Mix. The cross between both versions are united in a non-stop blend for those inspiring dancers.
