Sue Chaloner is an English house artist who has been an active recording singer from 1979 through 2024 when she left us. “Living On The Edge” is her 1992 single produced by Nigel Swanston and is in the house vein which clubs were bringing in the elements of bass and piano riffs. Sue released many singles which blended every style from disco, funk and eventually house music. “Living On The Edge” feels like a track which exposes the social injustices in consequences and life itself. It is another track where Sue gives way to the melody and message and creates a transparent and powerful vocal performance. Production gives us the segments of house keyboards leading into the anthem fused chorus and is perhaps one of her most strong lasting feelings in her repertoire.
I have taken both versions from the 12” release of “Living On The Edge” and placed it within a new focus on beats and bass again for this ReStructure Mix. Giving each segment a new breakdown for the upcoming drama of this wonderful dance tune.
