REISSUE: "Come And Get Your Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Lime

REISSUE: "Come And Get Your Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Lime Disco in the 80's was a breath of fresh air with bands like Lime. A fusion of electronics and a light flavor of simple love and life are the key influence here. Their 1980 blockbuster track "Your Love" kept dance floors all over the world waiting for the Lime II project. It was a simple hit with tracks like "Babe, We're Gonna Love Tonight" and "Come And Get Your Love". I have taken the pulsating track by Denis and Denyse and given it a new flavor and arrangement in my ReStructure style. This one makes the percussion dance and the wait for the opportunity to showcase it's own. Dedicated to Dominique of Paris and Loulou of The Netherlands - enjoy!

REISSUE: "Disco Extravaganza" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The George Bussey Experience

REISSUE: "Disco Extravaganza" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The George Bussey Experience George Bussey is an soul and disco arranger who worked with many artists including The Trammps, Loleatta Hollloway, The Four Tops, Instant Funk and Linda Clifford. His sound is a cross between the sweet sound of Philly and the chic sound of Euro-disco. In his project The George Bussey Experience he creates a album side long medley titled "Disco Extravaganza" which takes trip through a disco orchestration of swirling strings and the conga breaks well-known to disco in the late 70s. I have taken the 12" single and re-worked the arrangement to add a few new beat breaks and intro - the vocals supplied by Angie Griffin are reminiscent of the fabulous Salsoul recordings. This album was produced by Stan Watson and Mr. Bussey. This ReStructure is intended to re-vamp the disco arrangement for either a mind-trip or a retro-dance into disco-space!

REISSUE: “I’m Gonna Make You Want Me” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Gina Lamour

REISSUE: “I’m Gonna Make You Want Me” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Gina Lamour Gina Lamour is a high energy disco artist from the early and mid-80s who follows the path of synth-pop artists like Stacy Q. Her sound is a sensual and dramatic delivery of disco stage appeal with the lip gloss and pulsating beat. “I’m Gonna Make You Want Me” is her 1985 single produced by high energy master, Ian Anthony Stephens – who also gave us singles by Paul Parker, Hazell Dean, The Flirtations and Lisa. His electro-symphonic arrangements were a great return to the disco edge in the 80s. I have taken the vocal and instrumental from the 12” single and created a new ReStructure Mix which adds a few more sticks of dynamite to bring the catchy and lyrical chorus and Gina’s sexy energy to a new part. It was a nice high energy track during its release and will remind dancers of the electronic wall-of-sound that high energy created for more dance fantasies!

REISSUE: "Chain Reaction" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Diana Ross

REISSUE: "Chain Reaction" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Diana Ross Diana Ross released her album “Eaten Alive” in 1985 which gave Diana a new identity once again with the 80s pop dance arena. The club sound for this period was determined by how well your 12” single release was reworked for the dance floor and by whom. “Chain Reaction” is from this project and was produced by Albhy Galuten, Barry Gibb and Karl Richardson – it is a clever piece which takes us back to a bouncy and stompin’ Motown-esque feel rhythm and Diana sounding as if we had taken a step back in time. I have taken the 12” version of “Chain Reaction” – remixed by Francois Kevorkian and Ron St. Germain and have created a ReStructure Mix to salute this favorite. Using more of those 60s retro strings that flow like a symphony of sweet memories and also worked a few rhythm loops to give parts of the song a new experience.

REISSUE: “Human Nature” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Gino Soccio

REISSUE: “Human Nature” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Gino Soccio Gino Soccio brought a new face to disco music in the mid and late 70’s. His progressive sound during the late 70’s in projects by Kebekelektrek, Busta Jones, Radiah Frye, Karen Silver and Witch Queen included his electronic touch. His solo album in 1979 on Ray Caviano’s subsidiary label was a huge move for disco music when tracks like “Dancer” and “The Visitors” were sounds that began an ambient and new-age sound with disco electronics taking control. Soccio’s following project began growing into his newly created style and continues to memorize listeners and dancers. “Human Nature” is a single released in 1985 and features Michelle Sweeney on lead vocals. This powerful message is a message of attraction and the cause. Michelle’s vocals work well with the new age electronic sound and leave this Soccio piece, a classic. I have taken the 12” version of “Human Nature” and reworked the winding sequencers and riffs into a new ReStructure Mix. It was always a favorite of mine so I yearned for a new arrangement and change that would express what I could hear in Soccio’s magic.

ReStructure Mix Update (12/21/20) “Summer Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Lipstick

ReStructure Mix Update (12/21/20) “Summer Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Lipstick

Lipstick is a Euro-house project from Francesco Bontempi and Roberto Arduini. This Italo-house cover of the classic disco track “Summer Love” by Musique is a sweeping and lusty number. It is presented here with less of the orchestration and more of the deep bass and beats of the house scene of the late 80’s and in this case the release in 1990. The vocals are not as charged as the original but the outline is centered more on a lyrical bass beat and the full electronic sweeping keyboards representing Patrick Adams’ classic arrangement. This cover is one of the obvious choices for an Italian production in any form and it is presented here in a beautiful and lyrical outline to pay an appropriate homage to the disco number that made be believe in the beat.

I have taken the 12” version of Lipstick’s “Summer Love” and used the vocal, club, instrumental and piano mix to recreate a new ReStructure Mix. This time around I focused on some new elements created by the existing house beats and the bass thumps

REISSUE: "Pull Up To The Bumper" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Grace Jones

REISSUE: "Pull Up To The Bumper" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Grace Jones Grace Jones was iconic from the moment she stepped into the lights that revealed a darker image and persona. Her music, style, and presence have always intrigued audiences and even hardcore followers. Her music shifted during the early 80s appropriately with the new wave of electronic funk and rock. It was quite simple for Grace to complete the transformation effectively since she had performing this from the start. “Pull Up To The Bumper” is from the 1981 album “Nightclubbing” – produced by Alex Sadkin and Chris Blackwell. It is one of the most thought provoking songs as Grace takes the wheel and keys. The production is a sound from period which created an easy stage for funk to make it return in a new form. I have taken the 12” Remix by Steven Stanley and created a ReStructure Mix to lower this parking lot garage a few levels deeper. More samples and looping are added to make this infectious song stick even closer to your ears and feet.

REISSUE: “Heaven Knows” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Donna Summer

REISSUE: “Heaven Knows” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Donna Summer Donna Summer marked the height of her career and also in disco history in 1978 with her double record project “Live and More”. The 3 sided concert pressing is a display of Donna Summer’s fantastic vocals in a concert environment – even in play with her early recordings where she transformed the soft sexy tracks into her now emerging vocal abilities. “Heaven Knows” is one of the new songs from the project and features Brooklyn Dreams on backing vocals. It is one of Donna’s beautiful love songs and also marks a new phase of her career as the Queen of Disco. The production is another wonderful time when disco music was perfected with orchestrations and funky elements supporting the arrangement. I have taken the 12” version of “Heaven Knows” and recreated a new outline for this ReStructure Mix. It has more of a dub feel and breaks the original into more breaks for a new edit and experience.

REISSUE: “Red Light” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Linda Clifford

REISSUE: “Red Light” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Linda Clifford Linda Clifford pulls off the disco track of the 80s with “Red Light” – which is also featured on the soundtrack of the film “Fame” of the same year - produced by Gil Askey and Michael Gore. This track is another iconic moment for Linda’s soulful vocal and definitive style. One of the big dance floor packers of that year and one which fans place among her list of hits. I have taken the album version, being the long disco version and created a ReStructure Mix with an alternative arrangement and more of those bongo driven synthesizers that give Linda the boost her magic deserves. A new layout for a favorite talent of mine – Ms. Linda Clifford. This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Ms. Clifford in thanks for her wonderful place in disco history and for always being a lady!

REISSUE: "Ecstasy" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Madleen Kane

REISSUE: "Ecstasy" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Madleen Kane Madleen Kane moved disco music into a chic and sensual mode with her 1978 album, "Rough Diamond" - it was what disco music was all about. Her music was always accepted widely on dance floors with it's sultry and sophisticated edge. Her 1985 album "Cover Girl" was produced by UK high energy producer, Ian Anthony Stephens (Hazell Dean, Marsha Raven, The Flirtations) and San Francisco's disco giant, Paul Parker. It was once again the touch that gave that sparkle to disco's Goddess of Sensuality. I have taken the track "Ecstasy" and have given it the ReStructure touch using the sexy elements and samples to make it fit into a new realm. And also adding a little cameo from another sexpot who will ask that question which falls into the remix perfectly!

REISSUE: "Don't Leave Me This Way" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Carol Jiani

REISSUE: "Don't Leave Me This Way" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Carol Jiani Carol Jiani has been giving her unique touch to dance music since the late 70s. Her vocals bring to mind a torch-like feel and powerful resonance. In 1981, her big high energy track "Hit and Run Lover" gave her name a moment in dance floor history which is referred to frequently. "Don't Leave Me This Way" is a cover of Thelma Houston's classic - in Carol's own flavor and execution. A great variation to bring the song into a mellow and haunting feel. During the early 80s the song was covered by many artists - this being one of my favorites for it's variance. I have taken the song from the 1984 album "Dancing In The Rain" project - produced by Joe La Greca and Louis Toteda - and had created a ReStructure Mix to give this wonderful cover another place to spotlight Carol's talent and dedication to her fans and disco music.

"High On Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Claire - https://youtu.be/x11W2i6YEjE

REISSUE: "High On Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Claire

REISSUE: "High On Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Claire Claire is a disco artist from France with a single titled "High On Love" from 1978 produced by Thomas Davidson Noton - who also produced "Solitaire" (the original French version) by Clementine and French artist, Renaud. This track is the French edge of disco music in the late 70s - very similar to the sound of artists like Michelle and Madleen Kane. This session was arranged by Raymond Taras Knehnetsky who also worked on Alec R. Costandinos' Paris Connection and Trocadero Suite albums, Regine and a few notable disco projects. I have taken the US 12" on Prelude (mixed by Francios Kevorkian) and created a ReStructure Mix - focusing on the lush strings sections, drums and keyboards. This is the elegant sound of disco music and is always a nice representation of the impact and direction disco moved in the late 70s. NOTE: Written by Jack Robinson who wrote "I Love To Dance" for Tina Charles and also James Bolden (David Christie) who also wrote "Do Or Die" and "Saved" for Grace Jones, "All Night Man" for Loose Change, the Frantique LP, and of course "Saddle Up".

REISSUE: “Self Control" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Laura Branigan

REISSUE: “Self Control" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Laura Branigan Laura Branigan burst upon the dance scene of the 80's with her big hit, "Gloria" - many at first suspected that this might have been the new Donna Summer when hearing it echo through the clubs at first release. I can remember many coming up to the booth asking if it was the new Donna track. Branigan's powerhouse vocals rocked her way onto the dance floor. Her follow up to "Gloria" was "Self Control". During a time where pop-dance was taking on more of a rock edge this track was perfect. It contained an early morning sleaze edge and an energy that made Branigan even more of a commodity in dance music history. Sadly, Branigan passed in 2004 at the age of 47. She left behind some great pop-tracks and an unforgettable energy that was in my mind, the start of her career. This ReStructure is dedicated to Laura and also Paul in NY for requesting an epic mix of the track. Good energy to you all.

REISSUE: "I Just Keep Thinking About You Baby" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Tata Vega

REISSUE: "I Just Keep Thinking About You Baby" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Tata Vega Big disco songs have certain elements: a good rhythm track, catchy keyboard riffs, nice groove and memorable vocal - "I Just Keep Thinking About You Baby" is a monument in these tributes. Tata Vega sings her heart out out in this Motown disco classic - and yes the Motown disco sound did exist. With tracks like this there is proof. I have ReStructured the track in hopes of bringing the excitement not only of the song but of love once again - in it's caress and endearing thoughts which Tata sings here with more emotion and energy. Adding a few new breaks and resources to dress up the original 12" mix. This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Paul C. of New York - thanks Paul :)

REISSUE: “Oo-La-La Too Soon” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sarah Dash

REISSUE: “Oo-La-La Too Soon” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sarah Dash Sarah Dash is known for her role in the trio LaBelle (previously known as Patti LaBelle and The Bluebells) – a futuristic funk ensemble along with Pattie LaBelle and Nona Hendryx. Each of these ladies proclaiming a style of soul and funk fitting for the lineup and also solo careers. Sarah is known for her soulful delivery which hits levels of Patti’s power and demand for center stage. “Sinner Man” is her big disco hit from 1978 and mixed by Mr. Tom Moulton and produced by Gary Knight, Gene Allan, Jay Siegel and Wally Gold – also featured on Don Kirshner's subsidiary label Kirshner Records of CBS. The track is a gem of a disco recording and is now a classic piece to hold onto its resonating production and Sarah’s fabulous vocal performance. “Oo-La-La Too Soon” is from Sarah’s second follow up album which unfortunately trailed behind the disco movement into 1980 – and although the title single has the flawless disco production it received less attention. It uses the tie line from a well-known Sassoon Jeans commercial with the disco flavor or the time, Sarah’s take is struggle to maintain control over a powerful urge. I have taken the short 3:07 minute album version of “Oo-La-La Too Soon” and worked an extended mix playing with segments to finish a definite and noticeable arrangement. A new riff is placed below the melody and Sarah is visited by an old flame again. It is a toy on my end where I could never get enough of Sarah’s vocal in the short 3 minute play.

REISSUE: "Dangerous" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Natalie Cole

REISSUE: "Dangerous" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Natalie Cole Natalie Cole created quite a stir on dance floors with her high energy-dance track "Dangerous" in 1985. Produced by Gary Skardina and Marti Sharron the track was in resemblance to great 80s dance moods like The Pointer Sisters' "Jump". It was a resurgence of dance music done with the pop flare and excitement that was being generated by the clubs who were continuing to move to great music. I have taken the 12" remix -- which was produced by Steve Thompson and created a new ReStructure Mix. There are some extended moments and or course Natalie reminding us just how "hot" this man is.
