“Reap The Wild Wind” by Ultravox – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Ultravox is a British new-wave band who became one of the 80’s synth-pop influences for many. Members include Billy Currie, Christopher Allen, Midge Ure and Warren Cann. Their big hit “Reap The Wild Wind” is from their 1982 project titled “Quartet” – produced by George Martin. This track is perhaps one of the leading DOR (Dance Oriented Rock) pieces with upfront male vocal and hard pounding drums which made a big impact with listeners and the dance floor vibrating with their energy.

I have taken the 1996 film “Twister” starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt into this Disco Video Mix to scale right along with the Ultravox track. The film about an obsessed meteorologist chasing tornados for a deep rooted personal purpose makes a match for the winding sound of the dance song.

The film was directed by Jan de Bont
