El Coco is the disco trench dug by W. Michael Lewis and Lauren Rinder during the mid and late 70’s. Their productions brought to mind old-school disco with a new flair with a funky edge and refined groove. It was the raw sound of disco in a new approach. “Something Ya Got Makes Me Hot” is from the 1980 project titled “Revolution” and plays out in the formula to the ‘t” during a period of change in dance music. El Coco has always maintained their sound with the pumping bass and rhythm guitars making their way to the hilt. One of their most guiding moments in disco and a true sign of genius all the way around.

I have taken the album version of “Something Ya Got Makes Me Hot” and rewired the energy for another trip around the disco clock. This ReStructure Mix focuses on the drop beats and those rhythm guitars that never seem to get a rest.
