ReStructure Mix Update (5/12/22): “Autumn Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Electra
Electra is a late 80’s project from producer, John Rocca (Freeze, Secession) and Paul Oakenfold. This endeavor is a mild take on the sound created by Soul To Soul and Enigma with heavy drop-beats and a light swing. “Autumn Love” is their single from 1989 and uses segments of Donna Summer’s “Love To Love You Baby” to bring the sensual jazz-like overtone to life. It is one of the sounds that was picked up by the New Beat community and later hailed as “Balearic beat” among followers and disc jockeys.
I have taken the 12” version of “Autumn Love” and refined the Summer influence in this ReStructure Mix. A few more of Donna’s memorable hits are added to the flavor of this mix and a nice kick back Latin rhythm added.
