ReStructure Mix Update (5/8/22): “First Time Ever” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Joanna Law

Joanna Law is a singer/songwriter from UK who took on the unbelievable task of taking Roberta Flacks 1972 soul/ballad “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and adding rhythm to the beautiful piece. Joanna sticks in an alternative lounge arena with her vocal which works incredible well with the production from Simon Law where the beats are hard hitting and laid back with a jazz-esque touch. A very nice and successful attempt at the classic song and another reason why the early 90’s took some hard lessons from the 80’s and turned it around and into gold.

I have taken the 12” versions of “First Time Ever” by Joanna Law and retraced the bass line and those drum roll beats into a new ReStructure Mix. There is a longer and more defined intro and an exit that questions this curtain as it closes slowly.
