• "Don't Bring Back Memories" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - PassionRay Martinez (Foxy, George McCrae, Amant, Celi Bee) produced some of disco music's most beautiful flowing Miami flavored tracks. With Amant he marked a trend of strings and horns pouring over percussion and rhythms.
His studio band, Passion (not the same Passion on the AVI label, produced by W. Michael Lewis) was comprised of Richard Noriega Jr. on lead vocals and his ensemble of talented musicians. Much of Martinez's style was based on the swirling strings used in much early disco music and European productions.
"Don't Bring Back Memories" is a Four Tops classic from 1969 which Passion brings to life again with a new flair. The track is yearning and very expressive.
This ReStructure was created as a post-birthday gift for Alan in Beverly Hills - he has been a long-time supporter of my work I appreciate him very much. Happy Birthday to you, Alan!
