REISSUE: “Streetcar Named Desire” by Ava Cherry – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Streetcar Named Desire” by Ava Cherry – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Ava Cherry is a vocalist from the early 80s. Her first LP “Ripe!!!” from 1980 featured the disco hit, “Where There’s Smoke There’s Fire” (produced by Bobby Eli) and introduced dance floors to Ava’s fierce talent. “Streetcar Named Desire” is Ava’s second solo project and is produced by the legendary, Bob Esty (Paul Jabara, Donna Summer, Cher, Brooklyn Dreams, D.C. LaRue, Pattie Brooks, Roberta Kelly, Jeanne Shy) – a unique brand of electronic, funk and nu wave which made the early 80s a moving era of music and dance innovation. I have taken the 12” version of the tile tracks and created a Disco Video Mix utilizing scenes from the 1951 film adaption of Tennessee Williams’ “Streetcar Named Desire” starring Marlon Brando, Vivian Leigh and Kim Hunter. The romantic drama feeds well into the dance track and using images and motion from the cinema classic there is a new feel to both film and song. This Disco Video Mix is dedicated to Mr. Bob Esty and Ms. Ava Cherry! The film was directed by Elia Kazan Featuring scenes from “Streetcar Named Desire” – RENT THE DVD!
