ReStructure Mix Update (6/11/20) “Chinese Ways” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Secrets Of China

Secrets Of China is a Belgium Beat project from Herman Gillis, Jo Casters, Roland and Beelen. Their track “Chinese Ways” from 1988 was a part of the new beat movement of the late 80s. A style that was by legend, created by slowing down 45 disco electronic tracks to lower BPMs and exploring the edge of the electronic groove. In many of the selections from this genre you are only given segments of rhythms and tracks that are heavily stamped with riffs and samples. Some samples a bit racy and instigated a cult following. “Chinese Ways” has a fantastic groove which always caught my ear and the smooth looping keyboards always were a house-like experience that was hypnotic.

I have taken the 12” version of “Chinese Ways” and have given it a new ReStructure Mix adding a few new samples of Lao Schifrin's “Enter The Dragon” soundtrack. The piece plays out on its own with the new edit which plays on that infectious groove.
