ReStructure Mix Update (6/19/20) “Handsome Man” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sparkle Tuhran

Sparkle Tuhran is a vocalist from an ensemble titled Friends who in 1979 recorded the project titled “Trans Am Dancing” – produced by Jean-Pierre Massiera, John Brown III and Mike Felder. The track “Handsome Man” is the dance piece which has become a story on its own when Larry Levan of Paradise Garage made it a classic by identifying its raw soulful vocal and unique striped instrumental. A genre which would later become “garage music” and then later “house” music following synth-pop. The song was immediately a big hit among those who following the disco wave returned to the underground club sound and created a style of music for the early 80s which is now a part of music history.

I have taken the 12” version of “Handsome Man” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix which lends another ear to the progression dance music of the early 80s. It will always impact pop and dance music of the future since songs like this were spinning its own unknown legacy.
