REISSUE: “Rushin’ Roulette” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Gregg Diamond’s Bionic Boogie Bionic Boogie is a studio ensemble created and produced by Gregg Diamond (Andrea True Connection, Star Cruiser, Hardware). Diamond’s disco extroirdiinaire is based on a soft-rock edge a sweet disco aura at times blended where you are lost in hidden messages and intricate grooves. “Rushin’ Roulette” is from his “Tiger, Tiger” project from 1979 where his focus was on a stripped away feel with more of an edge as the 80’s were bringing a more nu-wave and rock sound to dance floors. This was a genius move on Diamond’s sessions as he did a similar touch on his project titled Hardware. I have taken the album version of “Rushin’ Roulette” and focused more on the fabulous vocal riffs from Luther Vandross, Jocelyn Brown, Janet Wright and Lani Groves. An added cameo from John Lennon brings this underground sound into a more celebratory light.
