Noel Pagan is a Cuban-American vocalist who took hold of a freestyle groove in his track “Silent Morning” from 1987 and made dance floors move. This street-beat pounding rhythm of freestyle has been used early in the 80’s taking a new approach at breaking down the beat from the disco formula and adding a Latin feel with percussion and light keyboard riffs. It was a whole new sound that dance floors from New York, Miami and across the West Coast began to make a new stage for. Noel’s “Silent Morning” is one of the tracks produced by Paul Robb and features David Cole from C&C Music Factory on keyboards which emphasize the true maturity of this sound.
I have taken the 12” vocal, dub and instrumental of “Silent Morning” and re-patterned the beats and style of the track for this ReStructure Mix. A downbeat is placed in segments of the track to introduce the Miami street beat in a whole new way.
