Kim Carnes released her project titled “Barking At Airplanes” in 1985 – produced by Bill Cuomo and herself – it was a follow up to more of her 80’s dance floor numbers with “Crazy In The Night (Barking At Airplanes)”. The track is a hint of loneliness and despair most likely after a split in a relationship where the night becomes an uneasy spot alone. The production utilizes a pop-rock edge with roaring guitars and Kim guiding us through this convincing and scary place. The energy is quite low-key however the chants and lead in to each chorus make it quite exciting.
I have taken the 12” vocal and dub of “Crazy In The Night (Barking At Airplanes)” to dive into this pop-dance number in a new way for this ReStructure Mix. More of the drum elements are used in segments to lift the energy and emotion to another night of thinking behind the ball.
