Alex Brown is a vocalist who began her recording career in 1970 and later became a guest vocalist in the disco group The Simon Orchestra (“I Close My Eyes And Count To Ten”). Alex has a powerful voice which seems to echo on after each performance. Her single “Come On (Shout)” from 1985 is a track from the motion picture “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” and is produced by Gary Skardina and Marti Sharron. The song is a celebration outlining the freedom of dance following love and hits home in more places throughout the many crescendos in the arrangement. Alex’s vocal is the perfect remedy for this piece and gives the 80’s once again the identity of high energy/disco a memorable point.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Come On (Shout)” and lit the energy back to back for this ReStructure Mix. A new play on the intro and pieces along the way which interact with the energy are spotlighted.
