David Diebold is a San Francisco dance artist who produced several releases on the Patrick Cowley label, Megatone Records. His work focused on the electronic advancements in dance music taking over in turn what Cowley began to create in the early 80’s. “Sex Technology” is his 1990 project which features Kim Cataluna on vocals. Their single “White Rabbit” - a cover of the 1967 song sung by Grace Slick and Jefferson Airplane. A deep embedded drug culture seemed to attach itself to this track as it has a lyrical and somewhat masterful link to the children’s tale, “Alice In Wonderland”. This cover gives the song a new identity leaving the feel of the original intact and only with touches of recording technology and Kim’s fabulous vocal.
I have taken the 12” vocal and dub of David Diebold and Kim Kataluna’s cover of “White Rabbit” and induced a new approach to the song in this ReStructure Mix. A new play with the drum tracks and haunting melody giving a couple of new breaks time here.
