Oh Romeo is a high energy project from Bobby Orlando and Tammy Quinn on vocals. The 80’s high energy sound became a phenomena on club dance floors thanks to the productions. “Try It (I’m In Love With A Married Man)” is their 1983 release on Bobby Orlando’s label Bobcat Records. This one is a confession from a torn woman who is dealing with the shame of having an affair with a man with a wife and family. It is a dramatic piece which gives a melodramatic vocal crying out for some kind of direction. Orlando’s music is hard hitting percussion and rolling bass sequencers guiding this story and playing out with several nice bridges. A big moment for high energy music and a track that also was covered by Pet Shop Boys later.
I have taken the 12” version of ”Try It (I’m In Love With A Married Man)” and worked to pay homage to Orlando’s music and high energy in this ReStructure Mix. I have skimmed down the drama by adding a few new breaks and drop outs. The energy is still pumping here and the sound is as intriguing as ever.
