ReStructure Mix Update (1/20/24):”I'm Not Perfect (But I'm Perfect For You)” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Grace Jones
Grace Jones is the “showgirl” of disco music. Her unique style and music contributions have never sold her short of fabulous. Her 1986 project titled “Inside Story” is again Ms. Jones being, “Ms. Jones”. “I’m Not Perfect (But I’m Perfect For You” is the big single and was co-produced by Chic’s Nile Rogers along with Grace. This one sticks to Grace as it displays her persona undoubtedly and also carries through a play with words in many ways as Grace sells her wares once again. The song became a big club hit made this disco star shine all over again.
I have taken the 12” vocal, dub and instrumental of “I'm Not Perfect (But I'm Perfect For You)” and realigned the track for a new ReStructure Mix. I have flattened out much of the rambunctious portions and given the new arrangement some smooth transitions into verses and some new breaks.

ReStructure Mix Update (1/18/24):”Once More” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Taffy
Taffy (Katherine Quaye) is a British singer who moved into the Italian disco arena with a big hit titled, “I Love My Radio (Midnight Radio)” in 1985. Her presence has always been an exciting one since most of her music always reflects uplifting themes and celebratory outlines. “Once More” is her single from 1985 and was produced by Claudio Cecchetto. This track is an anthem in the works as she exclaims the excitement to mention her partner and the magic that he gives. It is a soaring track which always rings out like a powerhouse when the chorus builds into the finale of raging keyboards and beautiful rhythmic sounds.
I have taken the 12” version of “Once More” and have taken one of my favorite songs and transformed it into a new ReStructure Mix. A new intro using the bass sequencers and into a new arrangement of the segments which paint this love song into a masterpiece.

ReStructure Mix Update (1/15/24): ”Nightdrive” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kaotic
Kaotic is a deep house project from Timothy Titsworth – his single titled “Nightdrive” was released in 1992 on Underground Level Recordings label. This piece is a rhythmic interlude into a moody and mystique as it beats out a drum track which grabs your ears and feet from the start. It is one of the transition pieces I have heard in many clubs during its release but for me it was always a track that could start the floor early or end the night. One of the early 90’s deep house/electronic numbers that I was caught from the first few beats.
I have taken the 12” versions of “Nightdrive” and realigned the feel into a whole new ReStructure Mix. A spoken intro from the 1967 film “The Graduate” with a bit of explanation for this drive in the hours of the night/ A few new breaks is created to give this arrangement some breathing space.

ReStructure Mix Update (1/14/24): ”Rich In Paradise” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Honesty 69
Honesty 69 is a German electronic project led by Thomas Gesell and Willi Grossmann. Their 1989 single “Rich In Paradise” is one of the Ibiza-esque dance tracks which bring to life the Lil’ Louis track “French Kiss” along with an outline of their own. Using the sequencer bass patterns throughout this arrangement make this sexy record work both as a house and techno number. The sexy infusion of the female adlibs gives the track its own identity as we are immersed into a rolling dance experience. This one always fared well at my club and brought peak hour to a new high,
I have taken the three versions from the 12” of “Rich In Paradise” and fused segments all three into this ReStructure Mix. The new arrangement seems to move backward from the original and holds to light the original genius.
