Stone
is a funk-disco project released on West End Records in 1981. The
project was produced by Auvil Gilchrist and mixed by Tee Scott. A sound
that was familiar with Randy Mueller’s work with Skyy this kickin’ track
captures the dreamy feel of a deep garage sound. The emphasis on the
theme pulls into the song in a creative edge throughout this dance
number. It has always stood out as a New York funk track and became a
part of the Prelude Records take over in the early 80s. It is easy to
understand why once you get into the feel of this track.
I
have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental to piece this ReStructure Mix
into a whole new experience. The “tic toc” effect keeps time once again
with a few new breaks and areas where the vocals help again to bring it
new life.
