Mirage is an Italo-Disco project from Ivana Spagna (vocals), Renzo Zannoni and Sebastiano Simonini. This early electronic production from 1983 is one of the sounds of the early pieces of experimental dance tracks which helped to make Italo-Disco the promising sound for dance floors. Creating a heavy layer of sequencers and keyboards in a robotic, yet smooth and melodic trance for vocals like Spagna’s who also helped to create the sound of Italo-Disco bands like Fun Fun. “Woman” is a simple piece with many great riffs which helped to make it one which stood out for the time. It is now considered a classic and still holds true to that feel which Italo-Disco makes it mark.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental to recreate a street-edged version for this ReStructure Mix. I have placed a familiar electro-street beat from Paul Hardcastle into the new mix to push out the rhythms and also remind those followers of just how diversified and progressive Italo-Disco is and was.
