Mylene
Farmer is a French Canadian singer who released several dance tracks
which found their way into a crossover phase for many disc jockeys
searching for alternative dance music in the late 80s. Her album “Ansi
Soit Je” from 1988 contains the single "Sans Contrefaçon” which I placed
into many tea dance programs and during progressive evenings a peak
set. The 12” single has a nice European feel with a melodic build along
with the pounding high energy-street beat sound. One of the French songs
of the time which lured me into an admiration for singers as Rose
Laurens, Desireless, Jaki Quartz, Matia Bazar and Elsa. Great dance
tracks with a nice stylish production alongside the dance beats for
hardcore dance palaces.
I
have taken the 12” “Boy Remix” and reassembled the arrangement in this
ReStructure Mix to keep this wonderful track out in the open for those
who appreciate the flavor of this dance genre. The pieces of this
original remix are pulled out into the open in lengthier segments.
Mylene’s beautiful vocal is the real focus here however and it is left
intact.
