ReStructure Mix Update (11/2/17) "The Stranger”/”Believe In Magic” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Shining Star

Shining Star is a disco project from producer Orlando Mazzoli who previously created several tracks under the title Hot City Simphony. “The Stranger” is one odd instrumental from 1979 falling under a sub category of psychedelic rock and underground club. The mood of this instrumental is eerie and is one which I considered the perfect after-hours instrumental track. It has always bro9ught to mind a spaghetti western soundtrack – much like “The Good Bad and The Ugly” – with a new chant riff. The conga breakdowns give it funky edge which the Paradise Garage would get lost in and blending into the psychedelic keyboards parts only brings it deeper into an underground dance realm. “Believe In Magic” is an earlier release by Shining Star from 1978 which sounds like a 60’s hippie track meets disco. It is pieced together much like “The Stranger” with more of a life band production. Some nice guitar and keyboard riffs make it one for hardcore connoisseurs to take immediate notice.

I have taken the 12” versions of both “The Stranger” and “Believe In Magic” and created a ReStructure Mix to pay homage to one of my favorite genres of disco music – the early morning sound. Blending parts of both in layers to give them a stage for both movements in one.
