ReStructure Mix Update (5/18/19) “What Is Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Haddaway

Haddaway is Alexander Nestor Haddaway and producer Dee Dee Halligan – creating a 90’s anthem in the techno-house tradition. The song was released in 1992 and brought the sound which was building at the end of the 80’s into a fashionable dance edge. “What Is Love” is the track which brought back the crossover dance song and more longevity to the disco/dance historical blend. Many dancers were lost in the emotional tug of war which the title brings to life in a rhythmic and anthem-like delivery. This is homage to the 90’s which continued to keep dance music alive with sincerity with elements of the past and future.

I have taken the US 12” version of “What Is Love” and refocused on the mood of the song which takes this ReStructure Mix over a long and wandering path. More of the high peaks and stripping away the beats and keyboards to loop and re-edit this one for a new experience. A great 90’s piece is still alive.
