ReStructure Mix Update (5/23/19) “Shake It Up, Shake Your Body” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Suzy Q

Suzy Q is a Canadian disco project which began from a 1981 single titled “Get On Up and Do It Again” – which featured the vocal of Carol Jiani. The success of the single brought a continuance of high energy tracks throughout the end of the 80’s. “Shake It Up, Shake Your Body” is the electronic sound which Suzy Q is formulated as with a touch of electro-funk and the voice encouraging body movement. Produced by Jerry Cucuzella whose electronic dance productions created a new underground sound for Canadian music. Suzy Q under vocalist Michelle Mills in this session works her charming vocals with that disco-femme-funk touch appropriately.

I have taken the 12” version of “Shake It Up, Shake Your Body” and placed the bouncy dance track in a ReStructure Mix adding some new electro-beats below to bring this version alive. More of Suzy Q and her haunting vocals are sprinkled around the new arrangement.
